    In addition to his recent service as the Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense (Special Operations/Low-Intensity Conflict), he has also served as Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council at the White House and as a National Security Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

    Mark’s distinguished 28-year career as an Army Special Forces officer saw him receive our Nation’s second highest decoration for valor in combat, the Distinguished Service Cross.

    Masud has led projects in some of the most challenging operational environments in the world, spanning disaster relief, scientific research, supply chain and logistics; financial management and procurement; and security sector capacity building.
